Approach

When crafting an environment for my clients I like to embrace  all of the senses. This to me, creates a space that can transport you to another time and place and in turn deepens the connection that my clients have with their home.  I start with how each client wishes to feel in their surroundings, allowing me to better understand the aspirations of how they would like to live.  Their daily routines and goals influence my choice of materials, fixtures, and flow of their floorplan.  I strive to make my clients life easier and more engaging by utilizing architectural details that solve problems.  Finding the perfect intersection between form and function.

history

With a BFA in interior design, Stevi Michner has studied in both Chicago and London, and began her career in hospitality design in Chicago. Upon moving back to her hometown of Ann Arbor Michigan she started her own residential design studio while pursuing her art practice. She debuted her artwork at Ralph Pucci in 2009 in a show with one of her long time idols, Vladamir Kagan. Soon after, Michner was recruited by Restoration Hardware to develop and lead their in home interior design services, when Gary Friedman, RH CEO took notice of her artwork. Together they conceived a platform for emerging artists, and from there, RH Contemporary Art was founded. After helping launch RHCA she returned to her interior design and art practice once again and currently resides in the Bay Area with offices in Sausalito, California.
